Year 5 and 6 Speeches

In Te Puawai we have been writing and presenting speeches. We have enjoyed sharing ideas and trying to persuade people to believe what we are saying. This year the year 5 speech winner at Paparore School was Lincoln Evans. The year 6 winner was Caedance Brown from Te Kauru. They represented Paparore School at the Far North Reap speech competition and both came third in their year level.

As winner of the year 5 speech competition, Lincoln got to say his speech to the whole school. The audience enjoyed his humor, facial expressions and ability to keep us entertained the whole time. When he said his speech in front of Te Puawai his peers gave him some feedback:

Feedback from Te Puawai to Lincoln:
Humor, loud, funny
Loud, funny, clear
Humor - it looked like he wanted to be there, loud and clear voice, "presenting " get it?
Humor - punctuation.

Ripper Rugby

Today some of our year 5 and 6 students traveled to Taipa to participate in a ripper rugby tournament held by Northland Rugby. We had an amazing time and all four of our teams made it to the finals. We have lots of excellent sporting talent at Paparore School. Our students represented our school with pride, showing our school values the entire day. They were commended for their integrity, sportsmanship and team work by the organisers and referees. Well done tamariki!
